First Toothbrush

Yesterday I bought my son his first toothbrush and training toothpaste. He has more than 10 teeth already! After dinner, I tried to brush his teeth but he wouldn’t let me get near him at first. He kept shaking his head back and forth so that I couldn’t get it to his mouth. I pretended to use the brush to brush my teeth, and he sat still long enough for me to get the brush in his mouth. When he tasted his toothpaste he pulled away from the toothbrush and started shaking his head back and forth again. Finally, when he stopped I was able to brush just his front teeth for about 5 seconds. This is definitely a work in progress.

He’ll get there, I found brushing my teeth in front of my daughter and letting her hold her toothbrush at the same time was a great way to get her comfortable with the idea of having her teeth brushed! Good luck momma!
